Despite the loss to Bama, I had a wonderful time with my hubby. We went to the ESPN pregame tailgate party that was at Walk-On's. That was so much fun. Met Dwayne Bowe (former LSU player who now plays for Kansas City Chiefs). This is my husband and I with Dwayne Bowe. "GEAUX TIGERS!!!"
I chatted with him for a bit as we were hanging out upstairs on the balcony throwing Mardi Gras beads to the people walking below. About 30 minutes later, he was whisked away by the ESPN people to go and do his part talking on Sports Center at the Superdome. Really nice guy.
Next up was Kelvin Sheppard (aka Shepp).
Yes, I am a shorty. Everyone is taller than me! :) It was nice to meet these former LSU players who came back to support their alma mater. They are both doing wonderfully well in the NFL. Kelvin now plays for the Buffalo Bills.
I also got to see a beautiful Mardi Gras Indian. This took her a year to make her costume. Also learned that they have a restaurant and museum nearby my office. Going to have to go there sometime soon! Isn't she beautiful?
On way to the Superdome from the ESPN party at Walk-On's, St. Augustine's Marching 100 Band played as they marched down Loyola Avenue.
The Superdome showing some LSU love...
Just a bit crowded huh?
A couple of pictures from the game.
I had a awesome time with my husband. It was THE greatest Christmas present EVER!!! Thank God we were sitting nearby Bama fans who were not obnoxious. It was a bit crimson where we were at, but there were still enough purple and gold peeps around us. All that I can say is that I showed up to the game, but our "O" line did not. I am also not so sure why our coaching staff did not come prepared to play a good game. Bama's coaches did their homework on us, apparently. Anywho, we won the SEC Championship and went into this game undefeated. You win some, you lose some. Cannot wait until next year's season to see some of the new talent that has been recruited. Like the saying goes..."Out with the old and in with the new." The 2012 LSU football season is going to be better than this one.
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
